Course Description

Section A
LW592, The Normandy Invasion - A Staff Ride
Taught by Andrew Baggs, PhD
American Military University

Section A. On-site, graduate level seminar on the Allied invasion of Normandy that covers planning, the landings, lodgment and breakout, and the period up to and including the Falaise Gap. During 2001, from 3-8 June, professor and students will investigate the landing beaches and other major sites in western France such as Cherbourg and the Falaise Gap. Requirements include briefings and a research paper. The group will be headquartered in Carentan. Non-refundable registration closes 1 Jan through American Military University.

Section B is a normal AMU distance education course, covering the same topic and it's normal enrollment period will follow the schedule for the summer registration period.
